About Dr. Shaun Kaiser

Dr. Shaun Kaiser is board certified in nephrology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, with over a decade of experience in acute care and outpatient nephrology. He holds a special interest in clinical nutrition — having practiced as a registered dietitian for over 18 years, including work with dialysis patients — which deepened his commitment to caring for those with kidney disease.

Dr. Kaiser earned his Master's degree in Exercise Science and Performance from the University of Houston and graduated from Ross University School of Medicine in 2007. He completed his internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at Indiana University in 2012.

Since joining Texas Kidney Institute in 2013, Dr. Kaiser has focused on preventive care, partnering with patients to develop strategies that slow or prevent the progression of chronic kidney disease. His clinical interests include electrolyte disturbances, acid-base physiology, critical care nephrology, and community health education.

Dr. Kaiser has held leadership roles across multiple hospital systems — including medical executive, pharmacy and therapeutics, utilization review, and ethics committees at Prime Healthcare, HCA, and Methodist facilities. He is also an active telehealth provider serving underserved communities.

Recently designated as an FAA Aviation Medical Examiner (AME), Dr. Kaiser performs Class 2 and Class 3 aviation medical exams at the TKI office on North Central Expressway in Dallas.

An avid traveler and photographer, Dr. Kaiser has worked both domestically and abroad before settling in Dallas with his wife and family.
